A panel for Giulio

Giulio Regeni was an Italian researcher for the Cambridge University. He disappeared in Egypt in early 2016, and was found murdered shortly after. The Egyptian police called it a car accident, but the autopsies confirmed he was tortured to death. The terrible story of his death shook the community where Giulio was from, which is where I also grew up, same age as him.

Amnesty International launched a campaign called “Verità per Giulio Regeni”, truth for Giulio Regeni, and the yellow flags of this campaign appeared everywhere in my region, with the text printed in thick black letters.

I was asked to replace one of these flags, because after 4 years it was old and ruined. After nearly 5 years we are still waiting for the truth.
